The Town of Kennebunk is a popular summer tourist destination and is known for its fine examples of early architecture and fine beaches. Kennebunk is rich with tradition and history. Downtown Kennebunk is where you’ll find the thriving Farmers Market from spring to fall, numerous events from May Day to Old Home Days to Winterfest, and ice skating at the Waterhouse Center, a covered open sided 100’ x 120’ outdoor ice rink located on Main Street. During the summer, a shuttle runs between Lower Village, the beaches and downtown Kennebunk., for residents and visitors alike who wish to take in all that the area has to offer without having to worry about parking.

Lower Village – Kennebunk boasts a vibrant section of town, located just a stroll across the bridge from Dock Square in Kennebunkport. Most people don’t realize that many of the best shops, beaches, Galleries and fantastic restaurants are actually in Kennebunk. You’ll find shops offering everything from antiques, souvenirs, jewelry, clothing and find collectibles, to surf boards and fabulous eateries specializing in cuisines from all over the globe.

Kennebunk has almost a mile of coastline which divided into three major sections. Mother’s Beach, Middle Beach and Gooches Beach. Mother’s Beach, a sandy pocket beach about 750 feet long. It has a lifeguard, playground and restrooms. Just to the north is Middle Beach, which has nearly a quarter mile of black pebbly beach. A sidewalk extends along the seawall at the road’s edge, which is lined with summer cottages and quaint inns. Farther along is the main and most popular beach area, called Gooche’s Beach. Here you’ll find a crescent of fine sand more than 3,300 feet long.
